juxtaposition of such things as the growth processes of plants with the context of rationally organized spatial architecture

Ilka Meyer, was born in Bremen (Germany) in 1972. She studied at the art academies of Mainz and Leipzig and lived about 10 years in Berlin. Since 2012, she works as a lecturer at the University of Vechta, Lower Saxony, where she is currently living.
Ilka works principally with site-specific installations in which she juxtaposes such things as the growth processes of plants with the context of rationally organized spatial architecture. «My works are often reflections on structures, realised as ephemeral monuments or micro manifestations of another reality», she explains.
